Dr. Bayard was born on the South Shore of Montreal. The minute he was able to speak, he told everyone he wanted to become a doctor for animals. In fact, this was a lifetime decision for he has never considered another career. Thanks to his parents that owned a pet shop during his high school years, he was able to familiarize himself with the animal world for he was helping them during the weekends. In 2008, he obtained his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.
What he finds really interesting in his field is that he can continuously evolve and acquire new knowledge and expertise. He reads a lot and does ongoing training on exotic animals and internal medicine for small animals. He has also completed a postgraduate microprogramme in veterinary medicine for domestic animals at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Saint-Hyacinthe, and also took several courses about exotic animals.
He has developed a particular interest in geriatric medicine. He believes people have a lot to learn to recognize signs of discomfort and diseases in their pet when they age.
